In a recently published three-page article in The Daily Mirror, a renowned British daily, a reporter compares Zagreb to Vienna, and calls it a hit tourist destination, not to be missed by any means. (more)
In his description of Zagreb, the author of the article recently published in The Daily Mirror compares the Croatian capital with famed Vienna. However, he also points out the major differences between the two, as each city has its own identity. According to the reporter from the prominent British paper, since Croatia has gained its independence, Zagreb has become very chic and therefore very attractive to people of all generations.
With some general information about the city, the author introduces his readers to the lesser known facts about Zagreb. In a tour of the city, the reporter notes that Zagreb boasts many excellent restaurants and bars. The city's architecture, which reflects the long rule of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, is wonderfully merged with numerous parks, which ensure Zagreb's particular charm. The pleasant and particularly attractive first impression that the city makes is, however, only a part of the chic that Zagreb has to offer.
In his article, the reporter also speaks of one of the best hotels in town - The Regent Esplanade Zagreb, which he points out is also one of the most recognizable city landmarks. He also mentions places that are typical for a younger, rowdier generation. One of these places is certainly the somewhat "grungy" club, Limb, where one can get a genuine feel for the alternative scene in Zagreb. A must-see place for aficionados of such a lifestyle is the Močvara (Swamp) nightclub. However, Močvara isn't just a nightclub, as it frequently hosts numerous unconventional educational, artistic and entertainment programs in which tourists can also participate.
Apart from writing just about Zagreb, the reporter also speaks of the beauty of Croatia as a whole, while highlighting the charms of Split, Dubrovnik, Makarska, Hvar, Brač and the entire Istrian peninsula.
