Welcome to autumn in Zagreb; a time when the city is especially packed full of cultural, trade, sporting and entertainment events! Many international happenings that started in late September will also continue into October.
Zagreb and its surroundings are becoming increasingly attractive and interesting for numerous tourists from all over the world. Here you can enjoy walking through the rolling hills and numerous vineyards, partake in seasonal events, enjoy the numerous parks such as Medvednica and Bundek, or the cultural and entertainment happenings such as the Autumn in Sesvete or the Podsused Ceremony, as well as excellent concerts, exhibition and sporting events.
Evidence of Zagreb’s popularity among tourists can be found in the recently published Tomas tourism survey, which monitors tourism trends and the level of tourist satisfaction. According to the data gathered by the Zagreb Tourist Board for the month of August, Zagreb was visited by 97,679 guests who accounted for 149,240 overnights, which was 16 percent more arrivals and 12 percent more overnights than during the same period in 2012. Most of the guests came from Italy, Spain, Germany, France and Great Britain.
Apart from an increasing number of guests, Zagreb has recently received another great recognition, this time from the Dutch blog Stedentriper.com, which published a list of the ten European cities with the best restaurants.
Zagreb was ranked second on that list, only after Krakow, but ahead of renowned tourist destinations such as Istanbul, Athens, Budapest, etc.
Dear citizens and guest of Zagreb, we invite you to indulge in the picking of autumn fruits and other products of nature, and enjoy the palette of their colours and aromas!
